Information

There is no particular set standard or style for what is sometimes called Baroque tack. Baroque horse tack is usually an ornate, flamboyant or extravagant style of tack popular in some circles during the 'Baroque' period, which emerged in Italy in around 1620 (to around 1800) and is most likely the world's first truly global style, covering Europe and as far as Latin America, Asia and even Sri Lanka. It typically symbolised pomp and power and was adopted by the ecclesiastical and courtly worlds, where it became stylish in some equestrian circles.

Baroque style horse tack is still manufactured by some traditionalists and to assist Baroque enthusiasts we include in this section some of the Baroque horse tack from our main stock listings.
