Originally, stirrups were cut froma single piece of wood. That method evolved into using wood that is steam heated and bent into the desired shape. From there, they can be left bare wood, covered with galvanized sheet metal for added strength, or covered with both metal and leather. They can also be made completely of metal (brass, aluminum, stainless steel). These stirrups embody the design and shape of the traditional western stirrup but encompase modern technology and are extremley lightweight.

Rubber stirrup treads . Very economically priced. We supply them in black or white and in a choice of sizes. These are just the normal replacement stirrup  treads -  without fancy descriptions, shapes or whatever. They fit on ordinary stirrups!

Sprenger anti-slip metal stirrup treads. Designed to fit the range of two bar Sprenger stirrup irons. Useful in wet and muddy conditions as helps to provide a firm, slip free surface for the boot to rest in.

Sprenger rubber stirrup treads. All rubber replacement stirrup treads made to fit the Sprenger range of stirrups. In a choice of black or white rubber. The Sprenger part number is HS-44242-121. 

Bristle covered stirrup treads. To provide excellent grip, even in wet and muddy conditions. Designed for use with two bar 'English' type stirrup irons. What mare can we say?! These strirrups have bristly treads, so here we go . . . In two sizes 110m and 120mm. 

Replacement leathers for Peacock safety stirrups. Designed to link the stirrup and the rubber band - which allows the band to break in the event that a rider falls off a horse, so allowing the foot to slip free. Sold as a pair.

Replacement rubbers for Peacock safety stirrups ( which are designed to break and allow the foot to slip out of the stirrup in the event of a fall).  Supplied as a pair in either black or white. Can be used straight or can be twisted to give a tighter fit.
