This is a complete Chambon set that can be used in various positions. The Chambon was invented by and named after a member of the Cadre Noir in the early 1900s and can be a useful training aid for some horses. Correctly used the Chambon can prevent excessive upwards movement of the horse's head and neck but allows free movement sideways, forwards and downwards. The Chambon does not apply backward pressure (unlike the Gogue). As the Chambon does not employ backward pressure, the horse’s reaction will be to lower his head, lift his back and engage his hind legs and as the horse lowers his head the bit is allowed to slip back into its proper place which should, in turn, encourage the horse to mobilise his jaw and to salivate.

The De Gogue is an adaptation of the Chambon which can be used when riding, but the line carries on through the bit rings and attaches to the belly again, forming a triangle. It is not safe to jump in. Available in either black or brown leather. The De Gogue is a training device that encourages the horse to work in self carriage and has two settings one for lunging and another for ridden work.The De Gogue was invented by Frenchman Rene De Gogue. It is used to encourage correct muscle development and to ask for self carriage by encouraging the horse to use his muscles correctly and to release tension from the head, poll and neck. The De Gogue applies pressure to the poll, corners, bars and the tongue. The De Gogue comes in to action if the horse shows resistance, not when working in a correct outline.

 The Thiedemann rein system works automatically if the horse rises too high or too long and the Tiedeman rein is easy to use as it does not come into effect so long as the horse's posture is correct.
