Hand made 'Open' polainas - Primera Abierta

The traditional Spanish polaina, or half chap, in repujada style. Hand made using first quality oiled leather. 'Open'means the leather fastenings close the polaina from bottom to half way up, with a seperate traditional leather toggle. fastner at the top. Traditional leather looped fastening. Leaher strips. Available in brown leather. These half chaps, or polainas, are classified by the measure of the ornamentation and carving work that they contain. Therefore Primera has the most, Segunda the second most and Tercera the third most onamentation and carving. This is type Primera, i.e. the most ornamentated/carved and is of the 'open' type available in sizes; S, L and XL - see size chart at end of section for more details.
